ABOUT RESVERATROL
Resveratrol as a subject of scientific study has gained in momentum over the last 2 decades. Studies revealed that Resveratrol, found on the skin of red grapes, was responsible for protecting the plant from bacterial and fungi attack. It is this armor-like quality of Resveratrol, that became the basis of succeeding studies. One particular occurrence that piqued the interest of scientists and has lead to various researches was the fact that people from southern France, who are fond of drinking wine, seemed protected from contracting heart diseases, despite their traditionally, high fat, French diet. This phenomenon did not exist anywhere else in the western world, as there is high incidence of heart disease in England, Canada, and the US.
Further studies done on different cancer cells, taken from different parts of the body, have shown that Resveratrol works in conjunction with other therapies. Its antioxidant properties are responsible for directly attacking malignant cells while protecting the surrounding healthy cells. Furthermore, it was established that Resveratrol has the capacity to stop cancer cells in its three stages of growth by blocking proper functioning of the cells? mitochondria. The mitochondria in each cell are considered as the powerhouse because it supplies the energy needed by the cell in order to function. When the mitochondria are destroyed, growth and proliferation of cancerous cells is retarded and consequently leaves the cells open for destruction by radiation or chemotherapy.
Aside from battling cancer, Resveratrol also provides protection from other diseases such as obesity, heart conditions and type 2 diabetes. Resveratrol is naturally rich in berries like the Acai berry. The combined powerful antioxidant effects of both Resveratrol and Acai berry will give ultimate protection against major diseases.
